(More photos on Australian Police Cars) Six fire crews from Bendigo and Eaglehawk were called a fire in a hardware store in Eaglehawk shortly before 8:30 this evening.

Smoke was billowing from the shop at the corner of High and Napier Streets when firefighters arrived. Two firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the building and extinguished the blaze within 45 minutes.

Damage from the fire was contained to the basement of the building, however neighboring buildings were affected by smoke. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
